Water
being one of the earth’s most precious resources,
Uppal's Orchid has taken special care to conserve this
resource by carefully employing planned techniques enlisted
below.
Aerators/Flow Restrictors- All taps
in guestrooms, toilets, ‘Ecoteria’ (Eco
friendly cafeteria) and the kitchen contain special
aerators, which decrease the outflow of water while
increasing the force. This results in saving up to 50%
of water.
Cisterns and Flushes- Another advanced
water saving device installed in the hotel is the ‘Geberit
Concealed Cistern’, which provides the guest with
two flushing options of 7.5 liters and 3.5 liters unlike
the conventional cistern that consumes 15-20 liters
of water per flushing.
Rain Harvesting- Rain harvesting wells
are provided at various locations to collect the water
during the monsoons in under ground systems in an attempt
to replenish the water table.
Drip Irrigation- With the help of
drip irrigation provided at the hotel site, wastage
of water while watering the plants with a pipe is avoided.
Water bodies - The fountain at the
main entrance- ‘Panch Dhatu’- is an amalgamation
of five metals and uses recycled water. |
