Eco Antakshari Competition

Environment is the lifeline of Uppal’s Orchid & when an activity was planned to provide some time for leisure to the team members, how can environment commitment be left around. Marking as the opening internal environment event for 2008, Eco Antakshari served the dual purpose of entertaining the team members as well as enhancing their knowledge for environmental variables. Including both rounds of normal Antakshari as well as description of variables that were closely linked to environment provided an opportunity of linking environment protection to fun & gave a thinking platform to the participants for the years to come.

Conducted as an interhouse event, Eco Antakshari saw overwhelming participation from all the departments who brushed on their environmental knowledge & began practicising weeks in advance to provide their house with a head start. The Competition was won by Aakash with the winning team composed of Col. Deepak Khanijou (House Captain & Security Manager), Ms. Kanchan Deopa (Asst. Sales & Marketing Manager) & Ms. Deepti Arora.

Clothes and Toys Distribution
Taking its endeavor for community welfare to the next level and aiming to bring smile on the faces of the underprivileged, Uppal's Orchid-An Ecotel Hotel commenced its welfare programme for 2008 with the organization of clothes and toys distribution for the poor in the month of January.

These articles for distribution, a generous contribution by the team members of the hotel, were distributed by the Green Team members to the slum dwellers in Samalka village. The articles distributed comprised of woolen clothes, shoes and toys for children.
